The Benedictine Health Foundation will honor community leaders, Dr. Martin Cascio and the Casciaro Family, at their 46th Annual Gala “Passport to Holidays Around the World” on Friday, December 11th at Diamond Mills Hotel and Tavern in Saugerties.
Martin Cascio, MD
Dr. Cascio will be presented with the St. Benedict Award for Medical Excellence. Cascio is president of the HealthAlliance Medical Staff and has worked as an Anesthesiologist in the Hudson Valley since 1997. He has held the position of Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at the former Benedictine Hospital and as Vice-President of the Medical Staff. Dr. Cascio maintains his academic ties as a Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at New York Medical College.
Casciaro brothers, Paul, Frank, Jr., and Lou
The Casciaro Family will be presented with the St. Benedict Award for Community Spirit. The Casciaro’s have served in volunteer leadership roles for many organizations in the Ulster County community including Benedictine Hospital’s Cancer Center Campaign, YMCA of Kingston and Ulster, United Way, American Cancer Society, and the Italian American Foundation. Frank Casciaro, Sr. and his wife Gloria started their insurance business in Kingston in 1977; their sons, Louis, Frank Jr. and Paul all joined the family business, now The Reis Group, which has grown to 50 employees at four locations.
