On September 21 over 400 cyclists of all ages joined the Benedictine Health Foundation to support the 11th annual Bike for Cancer Care at Dietz Stadium in Kingston. Sponsors and riders brought in over $135,000 to directly support local cancer patients and their families.
All proceeds benefit the Foundation’s Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund located in Kingston, which provides financial assistance to Mid-Hudson Valley cancer patients while receiving treatment. Patients who are eligible receive $500 in gift cards annually to purchase food at Hannaford Supermarkets and/or fuel at Stewart’s Shops. Since 2005, the Foundation has assisted over 1200 patients and distributed over $550,000.
