Mom had a big bowl of ice cream last night and it is the happiest I have seen her in a long time.  I have to thank you for that!  I cannot tell you how much it means to me to see her smile (a rare occasion these days.)  I am eternally grateful to you.

I want to thank you for your time in regard to my application.  It was nice to meet you.  The Stewart’s gas cards have been a great help to me since I had ovarian cancer in the fall and now breast cancer.  I have been slowing getting back to normal and now I start radiation where I have to drive every day, and the gas prices are so high.  I’m extremely grateful for the gas cards.  The Hannaford food cards have also been very helpful since I’m now changing my diet and inflation has also risen food prices so much, in so many departments, in the grocery store.  I’m touched that both Stewart’s and Hannaford have been helping out cancer patients.  I want to thank the Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund for making this generosity a part of my life in such a dark time in trying to stay positive and move forward in life.  THANK YOU!

I would like to thank the Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund for the gift cards for gas.  It really helped me a lot and I appreciate everything they do for me.

I am writing on behalf of David V., Radcliff V., and myself to share that the financial support the Rosemary D. Gruner Fund has afforded us during this time of medical catastrophe has been extremely helpful.  We purchased food items and first aid products.  Unfortunately, my husband David’s prognosis is poor so during this time of active grieving the fiscal help has meant a lot.  We are a single income family with much love but little assets.  Be well.

Many thanks for the generosity of the Foundation and the gift cards which have been a tremendous help during this difficult time.  My cancer diagnosis was shocking and the support along with the assistance from Joanne is appreciated.

The gifts I have received have helped me with many things that are important every month such as gas, food, and assistance with bills.  Cancer patients go through so much, so to have the Memorial Cancer Fund means so much to me and warms my heart to have assistance like I have received to help me and others fighting cancer.  Thank you all from bottom of my heart for all that you do to help those in need of help.

Everything you all have done is so much appreciated and will never be forgotten.

To the Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund.  Thank you so much for help with groceries and gas.  It is very much appreciated.

I would like to take this time to thank everyone involved in the memorial cancer fund for their help.  The gift of these cards for food was so very helpful at a hard and stressful time in my life. Having cancer for a 6th time you can really get behind in bills and so forth and these cards for food helped me so much.  I appreciate the help, kindness, and caring showed.  Thank you to Bernadette Rexford for being so kind and understanding and thank you, again, to everyone for being so thoughtful and kind that are involved in this wonderful fund.

Hi wonderful people.  Sorry it took me so long to get this off to you.  Your gift of the Hannaford cards was such a tremendous help and right when we needed it most.  Best of all, you also helped make my friend (92 years old and in a nursing home) very happy when I bought her some flowers and a piece of double chocolate cake from Hannaford. I’m so happy I did that then.  She passed away three weeks later.  She said to tell you she was saying special prayers for all of you, for me, and for a cure for this dreaded disease.  Thank you all sooooooooo much! I hope you continue with the wonderful work you are doing.

We want to “thank you” again for helping care through chemo with food and gas cards.  With the cost of food and gas these days, this was more helpful than I can say.  The Rosemary D. Gruner Cancer Fund is such a life saver for those dealing with such a difficult time.  We appreciate you so much.

Nancy H.

Thank you so much for the generous gift.  At a time where I am feeling too poorly to work, they come as a great relief.  I don’t have to worry or stress over how to purchase food and gas to get to my treatments.  Your program is truly appreciated.

I would like to thank the Rosemary Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund for the generous gift.  I receive treatment every three weeks at Sloan and this helps with my travel expenses.  I greatly appreciate the help.

I am so grateful to James for stopping in to see me while I was getting my infusion.  He explained the benefits I may qualify for through the Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund.  The gifts I have received and qualified for have benefited me to help pay for gasoline so I can get to my treatments and the Hannaford gift cards enable me to afford the added expense of some of my medications and food.

Christine

Thank you for making the “Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund” gift available to me.  In this time of escalating costs, having some assistance paying for basics like food and gas has been truly helpful to me.  Enjoy the holidays!

Just a little token of thanks and appreciation to encourage your heart for the “ministry” that you perform every day to those dealing with this awful disease.  You are a delight and so easy to talk to! You went above and beyond, and I can tell that’s just the kind of person you are…kind and dedicated to what you do!  May God continue to bless you and all those you love in these perilous times we’re living in!  Be well and stay safe.

A very special thank you for the donations and help you provided.  Living in Kerhonkson, being a mom that works full time, the gas cards were great.  Once I started radiation my hours at work were reduced and the extra money for food, gas, and my cell bill helped so much.  Thank you again for your help.  It was much needed help at a critical time.

I want to thank you for your generous gift of vouchers from Hannaford.  They are especially welcome after the expensive but necessary taxi rides to and from the Dyson Center in my last days of radiology treatment.  I had not been to Hannaford before, and I found it well supplied and very attractive.  Three bags of groceries have served me well as my daughter and son-in-law have come down with COVID and we are all in isolation for the time being.  Nice to have sufficient supplies at such times.  Your gift is much appreciated and will always be remembered.

A note of appreciation for your assistance in the gift from the R.M. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund. The gas cards especially come in handy for traveling back and forth for treatments every day.  Thank you for spending your time for such a worthwhile effort!

“I have been volunteering and donating to the Bike for Cancer Care 5K Run/Walk event for 5 years. My friend Elissa was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 6 years ago and we began to volunteer and give back to our local community to help others. Back in August of 2017, my mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. We turned to the Benedictine Health Foundation for help. They immediately provided my mom with gift cards to Stewarts and Hannaford. This certainly put a smile on my mom’s face not having to worry about gas, vitamins and supplements that she was now required to take. This year we were able to rise over $5,000 which helps 10 cancer patients for the next year. My mom passed in June of this year and we would now like to continue raising money in memory of her so that we can continue to help others. Please join us in our fight against cancer and help cancer patients in our community. Thank you!”

“When I was diagnosed for the second time with breast cancer last year, the Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund was a Godsend for me. With their help and support my life was made a lot easier while going through treatment. I’ve hosted 14 years of Breast Cancer Tournaments at the New Paltz Golf Course where I have worked for the last 17 years. This year a portion of the proceeds benefited the Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund, let’s say I wanted to pay it forward. Thank You Benedictine Health Foundation for all you do for everyone facing a cancer diagnosis.”

“The Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund helps many of my patients make it through the first two years of cancer treatment.  Because of time lost from work and high out of pocket expenses for health care, patients need financial support during treatment. Without this fund, our patients might not go through with radiation and other treatments that allow them to live healthy cancer free lives!”

Kristin Flynn, Assistant Professor & Program Coordinator of the Fashion Program at SUNY Ulster

“Thank you to the Benedictine Health Foundation for the financial support through the Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund when I needed it during treatment. Your contributions to individuals and the community are beyond measure.

Rob VanDerbeck, SVP Sales, Poughkeepsie/Hudson Valley, Franklin/Sussex, iHeartmedia Markets Group

“The Benedictine Health Foundation’s focus on helping local families is the key to why we, at iHeartMedia, support the foundation. Each of us has been touched personally or through friends by cancer. And, recently many of us have experienced the same watching friends and family battle substance abuse in our community. The opportunity to help local families as they battle through these fights is an honor and a responsibility for each of us.”
