In an effort to focus more on their clients and with the motivation to provide a higher level of service, Financial Advisors Evan R. Meltzer, Philip R. Meltzer, CFP® and Edward T. Hill, CFP® created Meltzer & Hill Wealth Advisory, LLC in early 2013.
The goal was to combine the best of large-firm resources with the quality service of a locally owned independent business, and they seem to have achieved it. Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network holds all client accounts and processes all transactions, while the three partners and their staff provide day-to-day service and advice. This allows the partners to make decisions efficiently, without the delays often associated with larger-firm models.
For example, their office was completely custom designed to their specifications, and their professional staff, all of whom have worked with the partners before, were individual selected by them.
First and foremost is how the practice provides advice to help clients achieve their financial goals. Meltzer & Hill Wealth Advisory is primarily a fee-based practice, focused on portfolio design and management, as well as general investment planning. The process normally starts with a face-to-face meeting during which the client’s entire financial picture is discussed, where personal and financial goals are prioritized and included in the investment plan. This allows the team to focus on portfolio risk, tailored to each individual client.
In addition to the obvious business benefits, being independent allows Meltzer & Hill Wealth Advisory to be more involved in supporting the local community. All three partners have served on several local charity boards. Evan has served on the boards of United Way of Ulster County, Star Library, and Northern Dutchess Hospital as Board Chairperson. Philip formerly served as President of the Rhinebeck Chamber of Commerce, a previous President of Rhinebeck Rotary, and also served as a Board Member of The Northern Dutchess Hospital Foundation. Ed previously served on the Board of Gateway Community Industries for 15 years, including terms as Vice Chairperson and Chairperson. He currently serves on the Board of the American Red Cross – Mid Hudson Valley Chapter, and the Benedictine Health Foundation. Ed became involved with the Benedictine Health Foundation by participating in the Bike For Cancer Care event in 2007 and has been a regular participant and one of the largest fundraisers ever since.
In addition to their community service Meltzer & Hill Wealth Advisory regularly donates to over 20 local charities and matches employee charitable donations.
